Food for cats

Cat food is chosen differently than dog food: cats are obligate carnivores, so they require animal protein and taurine, and they drink little from a bowl — part of their fluids must come from their food. Therefore, dry and wet food are usually combined.

What kind of food should you choose for your cat?

• Dry cat food— convenient for everyday use and keeps for a long time; grain-free and traditional recipes for adults, kittens, sterilized cats, and large breeds.
• Wet cat food— canned food with high moisture content; especially important for cats that don't drink much, and convenient to combine with dry food.
• Cat treats— freeze-dried meat and fish bites and creamy treats.
• Supplements and vitamins for cats— salmon oil with omega-3 and remedies for hairballs.

Food according to cat's needs

• Food for sterilized cats— fewer calories to make it easier to maintain weight after sterilization.
• Food for kittens— more protein and energy for growth.
• Food for senior cats— more easily digestible recipes for older cats.
• For hairballs— paste to prevent hairball formation in the stomach.
