Dog boots

(3 products)

Dog boots protect paws from things a dog cannot avoid on its own: winter road salt and ice, hot summer asphalt, sharp gravel, or glass shards. Dog boots are also useful when protecting an injured or healing paw.

Dog boots are usually bought for winter: roads are covered with salt, which bites and irritates paws, and ice and frozen snow injure them. But boots are also useful in summer — hot asphalt burns paws, and during a hike, they can get injured by sharp gravel or glass shards. You can find balmsfor soothing and protecting paw skin separately.

What kind of boots should you choose for your dog?

  • Winter boots for dogs— with a warm fleece lining, protecting against cold, snow, ice, and road salt; often with reflective elements.
  • Protective boots for dogs— with a rubber coating that protects against cuts and punctures, are waterproof, and grip well on slippery surfaces. Suitable for hikes, city glass, and hot asphalt.
  • Boot size— measure the width of the front paw while the dog is standing: place the paw on a piece of paper, trace its outline, and measure the widest point. Front paws are larger than hind paws, and there should be room in the boot for the paw to spread out.
